How harmful is aviation to the environment

The industry of aviation has grown into something millions of people have come to depend on for their day to day lives. When it starts to effect people in a way of not being able to get them from where they are to where they need to be there is a problem. The effect that aviation has had on climate change is a silent problem that many people do not think about. This causes climate change which effects our environment in a very negative way.

The factor we will be focusing on is how non-co2 and co2 effects our environment. "Airplanes burn fossil fuel which not only releases CO2 emissions but also has strong warming non-CO2 effects due to nitrogen oxides (NOx), vapour trails and cloud formation triggered by the altitude at which aircraft operate."(Transport and Environment. 2022) Though you would think non-co2 would be friendlier than co2 emmissions it is just as bad. To try to midigate effects of this aircrafts we can use cleaner flues and change their flight routes. 

What can we do to help with polution to our environment, diffrent fules is something i believe  will help with moving forward, "E-fuels such as power-to-liquid are a potential source of zero or lower carbon alternative fuels. E-kerosene is the only fuel that can be sustainably scaled up to reduce aviation’s climate impact."(Transport and Environment. 2022) The reserch of hydro or electric planes is also something that could help or enviorment but it is still in the works.
