TSA has a problem 

The main issue with airports is the slow checkpoint even with the 2 million dollar CT scan upgrades. 

In this article, two issues are being discussed, the TSA line length and the unnecessary use of CT scanning machines. The initial process of TSA begins when you buy your ticket and your personal information is checked against records to see if you are safe to fly. When you arrive at the airport, there are multiple surveillance cameras for added security and trained dogs to sniff out explosives or unusual items. When entering the TSA checkpoint for bags, the officers there match your ID to your face and any characteristics, and on top of this there are scanners to detect foreign objects or metals. Then on the flights, there are armed pilots, air marshals and secure doors to prevent any time of hijacking 

The first issue with airports is the slow checkpoint even with the 2 million dollar CT scan upgrades. A majority of the bags (60%) were pulled aside for additional screening which started to make people wonder if the machine was creating a small image or the officer's indecisiveness to pull the bag. overall this causes unnecessary waiting and in turn, could cause passengers to arrive at their gate late or even miss their flight. These secondary screenings, it divert the focus of the TSA agents instead of them focusing on more hazardous items. "However, if the CT screening devices are slower in processing carry-on bags so that passengers congregate in the screening area, any such benefits are certainly diminished, and perhaps even completely evaporate". This goes to show that even in the TSA precheck lines, there are CT scanners which slow down the stream of passengers. 

A solution is that there an be separate groups of TSOs to work the CT scanners. What this will do is lessen the amount of secondary screening and create a better flow of passengers through the checkpoint.
